Vampyrwocky

back to filk list
by Elena B.'s husband Brian

'Twas Vamping, and the slayage toves
Did gore and slurple on the babe:
All Buffly were the were-o-wolves,
And the murdling wraths untooth.
"Beware the Vampyrwock, my dear!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Hellmouth sons, and shun
The Killerous Demonhatched!"
She took her Wooden stake in hand;
Long time the woesome foe she sought--
So rested she by the Bronze at three
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in gravish thought she stood,
The Vampyrwock, with eyes of fire,
Came burbling through the smokely hood,
And hackled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The wooden stake went snicker-snack!
She left it thus, and with its dust
She went glaumphing back
to Giles.
"And hast thou slain the Vampyrwock?
Come to the library, my blondish girl!
O stabjous day! Taroo, tarray!"
He chortled his head awhirl.
'Twas Vamping, and the slayage toves
Did gore and slurple on the babe:
All Buffly were the were-o-wolves,
And the murdling wraths untooth.
